![]() Joan Miller is co-founder of BIRRDsong, a non-profit organization created by people with brain injuries. A traumatic brain injury survivor herself, Joan has dedicated her life to changing a law that allows alcohol to be over-served on military bases in some states across the country. She lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband John. She has shared her story of survival, courage, and conviction with the Brain Injury Conference of Oregon, the Oregon Liquor Control Board, and high schools and elementary schools throughout Oregon and Washington. She has completed training with MADD and is nationally certified in Victim Advocacy. Joan also serves as a panelist on the Victims’ Impact Panel of Multnomah County and works with graduate students in optometry at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon.
